I am honored to give a SUPER short presentation on Sappi’s Ideas that Matter at PechaKucha on Friday, June 18th for San Francisco’s closing party for Design Week. You can find out more information at AIGA SF. Hope to see you all there!

It’s been a whirlwind year so far and to top it off, I get to be on stage with a living legend — Kit Hinrichs or Studio Hinrichs and a former partner at Pentagram. For years I have admired Kit’s work and I am honored to share the stage with Kit and Maurice at the HOW conference to help spread the word about Sappi’s Ideas that Matter program.

In July you’ll be seeing a familiar logo on TLC. One of my personal favorites, Georgetown Cupcake will be hitting the small screen with their very own reality TV show called “Cupcake Sisters.”

As noted in the Washington Post, “The six-episode series, which launches in July, will follow the lives of Georgetown Cupcake founders Katherine Kallinis and Sophie LaMontagne as they build and promote their booming cupcake business. Filming begins in Washington Friday and will continue throughout the spring.”

I will be a speaker at this year’s Y-Conference in San Diego. I will also be conducting a ThinkShop with Phil Hamlett on “Social Equity and Sustainability — the Rubber Hits the Road.” Visit the Y-Conference website for more information and to register for the event.

I was asked to be a judge for the AIGA Minnesota Design Show. Deadline for entry submission is February 24, 2010. Can’t wait to see the work!

The 2009 Sappi Ideas that Matter Call for Entries and Old News/New Year poster was recently included in GDUSA’s 2009 American Graphic Design show.

Recently I was appointed as Co-Chair for Social Impact to the AIGA SF Board. I’m excited to hold this position and look forward to working with the entire AIGA SF Board.

I received this a couple of weeks ago from my friend Todd. Its kind of nice to see that the work we created for Georgetown Cupcake has seeped into the everyday consciousness of the general public in Washington DC. Its really gratifying to see that the work is connecting to their customers.
