In late summer 2007, Weymouth Design was approached by an entrepreneur to help fulfill her dream and launch a new venture — Georgetown Cupcake. After 6 months of planning, prepping and baking; the shop opened on Valentine’s Day 2008 in Georgetown, Washington DC. The little bakery has done phenomenally well selling an average of 800 cupcakes a day! So if you’re in the Georgetown, Washington DC area, make sure to check them out.
I am once again privileged to be teaching at the Academy of Fine Art in San Francisco for the 2008 Spring Semester. I am teaching the subject of Elements of Typography in the graduate program. With luck, I will hopefully inspire one student.
I have recently been asked to teach a class at the Academy of Art in San Francisco. This coming fall, I will be teaching a class in typography with Brian Singer. It has been a few years since I taught at Suffolk University’s New England School of Art & Design but I am very much looking forward to once again teaching and hoping to at least inspire at least one student this semester, if I’m lucky.
In July, I was once again priviledged to join the ranks of some of the most talented designers and industry profesionals in the design community to help judge a design show that chooses to recognize and support the work of designers who choose to help non-profit organizations. This is truly a unique program that shows that design can make a difference.

The SAPPI Printers of the Year award catalog and call for entries has been chosen and will be included in the Graphis Photography Annual 2008. Rob Villanueva is the photographer for the book. Graphis Photography Annual is a moving collection of the year’s best photographs. Rob joins a distinguished list of the world’s most respected photographers and selected from an international pool of entries. Thanks again Rob for a job well done!

Pie Books, a Tokyo publisher, will be including our work for Bradford and SAPPI in their new book called “Simple Graphics”. The book will be available in the US in the fall of 2007.
The Black Book AR100 Award Show honors the top 100 annual reports, chosen by a panel of award-winning designers. Our work for Oscient’s 2006 Annual Report has been selected as one of the 100 annual reports in the 22nd edition of AR100.
